I love to read stories as stories have played a very
essential part in my life. And, when I got a chance to read this beautiful anthology
of stories, A Ticklish Affair and other stories by Sunil KApoor and Sudhir Kapoor, I wasn’t able to stop myself.
It is a very nice read having different stories which showcase the reality of
the life.
A Ticklish Affair and Other stories by consist of ten
stories based upon the real world and the various aspects of the society such
as corruption, smuggling, sexual abuse and various others. Some of the stories
are made into short films and some of them have won awards. Each story conveys a
message which teaches the reader the various aspects of life.
The stories are written in a simple manner in a lucid way. They
are very engaging highlighting so many different themes. The stories made me
just stick to them like glue and even some stories are very interesting that I
read them twice. And, each story has something very unique about it and they
have their own charm. Some of the stories are ‘Blackmail’ is a story about how
Ravi is blackmailed, ‘Let Me Soar High’ is an intense read about molestation, ‘Masqueraders
from the North’ is about how few farmers are fooled by the fraud job agencies, ‘Rikshaw
Faridabadi’ is a nice read about a girl and a rikshaw puller, ‘A Ticklish
Affair’ is a story about extramarital affair, ‘The Kikar Tree’ shows the
reality how the fraud sages play with the faith of the people and few more.
All the stories made me stick to them and it is a delight to
read each one of them. The stories which I loved the most are ‘Let me Soar High’
and ‘Blackmail’. I recommend this book to each and every person. It gives us
the taste of the reality of life touching upon the various issues.
It is a very nice coffee table book and a reader can have a
relaxed time reading them. Overall, the book is a very nice collection of stories and
I would highly recommend it to everyone.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Sunil Kapoor, co-founder at Zenith Global, is a Delhi-based financial consultant and taxation advisor. He has almost four decades of experience in guiding national and multinational clients with their tax obligations, strategy consulting, real estate transactions and financial structuring. He has had the honour of serving the ex-president of India and various Bollywood actors. Sunil is also actively involved with many NGOs and has been awarded by Khushii (an NGO) and Lions Club of Delhi for his contributions. He has also been awarded for his contribution to the field of music by the President of India and performed at live shows in India and Singapore. His hobbies include rendering piano recitals and reading books, especially autobiographies.
Sudhir Kapoor is a chartered accountant and a renowned financial consultant with around 30 years of diversified experience. He is an expert in the field of business controls advisory, audit & assurance, and financial risk management. His clientele mainly consists of public and foreign companies. Sudhir is an FCA from the Institute of Chartered A ccountants of India and a commerce graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University.
