BLURB

I was out on a date. Everything was perfect… Till that shot… a high-calibre one, no apparent sound. And, the man in front of me fell. A rifle with a suppressor? A sniper in the middle of a Mumbai mall? As the body count mounted, I was soon sucked deeper into the chaos unleashed by that shot. To survive and save those whom I care about, I have to become the man I left behind. I have no choice but to tap into a bloody past that has put me on the terror kill list. I may also have no option but to join hands with the sniper terrorising Mumbai. The problem is that the man has sworn to kill me. In a world where the young and poor kill and die in conflicts started by the old and rich, I and my unlikely companion finally discover the thin line that separates a mere killer from a hero. This is our story…

COVER PAGE

The cover page of the book Sniper's Eye is very attractive in shades of blue and black colours with the title of the book in bold characters in yellow colour.  The image on the cover page is of an aim which is very apt to the story. I really liked the cover page a lot.

REVIEW

I really love to read thriller novels especially the ones that make me stick to my reading corner and Sniper's Eye by Mainak Dhar was able to do  it. It revolves around Aaditya Ghosh who is a very reserved and a quiet person and is very secretive about his past and is working with GRS International. He was out on a date with Zoya when a person was shot dead in front of his eyes and Aaditya did something which made him a heroin the eyes of the public but it was not enough, his name appeared on the terror kill list.

Sniper's Eye is a very gripping tale revolving around wars, shooting, terror and corruption. It is filled with suspense that I was not able to anticipate the happenings and it builds so much tension. The book is written in a simple and easy language. The plot is very intriguing with all the events well described in a great detail and there are so many twists in the story making it an action packed thriller novel. The narration is fast paced and the book can be finished in a day. There are quite a few events which were so interesting and I was able to visualise them.

The characterisation of the book is very powerful and are very well developed. I loved Aaditya's character who is so powerful and ready to do anything for the country. I liked Zoya's character as well. I really liked how she has been shown as a strong woman and can stand up for herself . The other characters include Ravi, Rekha, Aman, Phadke and Thapa.

All in all, a very engaging book having elements of hate, love, crime and so much drama. I really enjoyed reading it a lot. A page turner book which kept meat the edge. I would highly recommend this book to all the thriller lovers.
