The Princess of a Whore House The story of a Swamp Lotus is the debut book by author Mayank Sharma published on 23 October 2016 by Notionpress.com. The cover page of the book is very beautiful and catchy to the eyes having a blend of orange and yellow colours and displaying picture of two girls with smudged eyeliner and back profile of a girl.

The Princess of a Whore House is a story about a girl Aparajita who is hardworking and ambitious and has some desires and dreams and want to become an independent individual. But the fact that her mother Ramya, is a widowed sex worker irks the community.

The book is written in a very easy and a simple language and author has picked up a very sensitive issue. The way the plight of the mother and daughter is written is very realistic. The characters Aparajita and Ramya are very well built. The secondary characters could have been developed more. The narration is in two perspectives - Ramya and Aparajita. A very quick and a crisp read. I appreciate how author has encouraged to be self dependent and get educated. Till the end the author has made the interest of the reader which is very appreciative. The portrayal of the emotions is very beautiful and realistic.

Overall, a fast paced and a simple book and can easily be finished in one sitting. I recommend this book to everyone .
